Description

The Proteomics Core Facility at CIC bioGUNE is focused in the study of proteins and proteomes. The main aim of this unit is to give technical support in this field and allow the different research groups from CIC bioGUNE and the scientific community in general to carry out proteomics studies. The facility harbours an entire DIGE system for 2DE. For mass spectrometry analysis the facility is equipped with a platform consisting in a robotic workstation for protein digestion and further sample preparation, and a MALDI TOF/TOF. There is also a nano LC system coupled to Q-TOF for protein characterisation (e.g. post-translational modification analysis) or complex peptide mixture analysis.

Description

The Proteomics and Bioinformatics Unit of the Applied Medical Research Centre (CIMA) started in 2002 to support research initiatives in the context of new technologies. One of our main interests is the development of new methods as well as the integration of state of the art technology to create a competitive laboratory offering to the scientific community efficient solutions in high throughput research. During this time we have developed software for the analysis of genomic and proteomic data (GARBAN), and we provided solutions to multiple research projects involving proteome analysis by 2D gel electrophoresis, protein identification and modification by MALDI TOF and LC-tandem (QTOF) mass spectrometry.

Description

The Proteomics Unit of the Genomics and Proteomics Facility of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) is located at the Faculty of Science and Technology in the Campus of Bizkaia. It is a general research facility that aims to provide proteomics tools not only to research groups from the University but also to the external research community. A highly qualified personnel runs a Waters-Micromass LC-MS/MS system comprising a CapLC, a Q-TOF micro, and MassLynx and ProteinLynx Global Server informatic suites.
