MIAPE project creation:

As we did in previous editions, all experiments performed in this ProteoRed Multicenter Experiment will be reported using the MIAPE generator tool.

Each group will have to create a new project with an indicative name, such as CNB_PME5 or to use the public project called "ProteoRed multicenter experiment 2009-2010" (ID:364):

MIAPE document creation:

Then, in that project you will generate as many MIAPE compliant reports as necessary.
The name of each document should follow this structure:
GROUP_ACRONYM - MASS_SPECTROMETER - QUANTITATION TECHNIQUE
Examples:
CNB - ABI 4800 MALDI-TOFTOF - iTRAQ
CNB - Bruker HTC Ultra - ICPL

Controlled Vocabularies (CVs) in MIAPE information:

One of the last improvements of the tool is the posibility of select or add controlled vocabularies for some fields in the MIAPE forms. So fill all the information using these CV terms as possible.

Here you can see an example of the section 1.1 from MIAPE Mass Spectrometry in which we will be able to select one CV term for the name of the spectrometer and another for the model.

List of CVs for the name of the spectrometer:

List of CVs for the model of the spectrometer:

If you are not able to find an option in the drop-down list that fits with which you want to state, in most of cases (not all) you will be able to select the last option of the list "Other... (Add or search more CV terms)":

and a new form field will appear. There, you will be able to write wathever you want, and the system will automatically search in the Ontology Lookup Service (OLS) for an CV term that fit with the typed letters:

The CV terms that fit with your typed letters will appear in a list. You can select one term from the list or ignore it and using your own words.

If you select one term from the list and then click on "save" button, its synonyms and definition will appear automatically.

If you have any problem with the tool, or you don't know your user/password to access to your projects, please contact to smartinez[]proteored.org
